About H. Rand Scott, MD

H. Rand Scott, MD is the founder and Medical Director of Newport Pain Management, where he has treated chronic pain in Newport Beach since 1996. A board-certified anesthesiologist with subspecialty training in pain management, Dr. Scott is a national leader in non-opioid pain care and was among the earliest physicians in the country to use gabapentin for pain.

His approach treats pain as a whole-person problem — combining targeted procedures, non-opioid medications, physical rehabilitation, and mind-body techniques — and has earned him recognition as a two-time Orange County Medical Association "Physician of Excellence."
